Super Bowl 53 Odds & Picks

Super Bowl 53 Odds, Favorites, Contenders & Sleepers

Who are the Super Bowl 53 betting favorites? Are there any smart picks? Sleepers?

Fake football is almost over. The quest for Super Bowl 53 begins on September 6th, 2018. It is a perfect time to take a look at the current Super Bowl 53 odds, contenders and favorite picks.

Super Bowl 53 Odds & Picks

Picking a Super Bowl winner with 157 days before kick-off is a complicated thing. Preseason football tells us very little about how teams will perform when games count. Plus there are so many unknowns. Injuries. Breakout players. Weather. Suspensions. Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 53 odds, betting favorites, contenders, and possible sleeper picks.

Super Bowl 53 Betting Favorites

  • New England Patriots +625
  • Philadelphia Eagles +900
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +1100
  • Los Angeles Rams +1150
  • Minnesota Vikings +1200

Every one of the Super Bowl 53 betting favorites has roster issues except for the Minnesota Vikings. More on them later.

The Patriots lost top wideout Julian Edelman for four games after a PED suspension. QB Carson Wentz isn’t a sure bet to start for the first couple of games this season. RB Le’Veon Bell hasn’t reported for the Steelers with a contract dispute. The Rams leagues top defensive player, Aaron Donald, is waiting on a new contract as well.

Now back to the Vikings who are primed to be the best Super Bowl 53 bet. RB Dalvin Cook is back after a knee injury derailed his breakout season last year. Combine that with QB Kirk Cousins arrival and everything points towards the Vikings being the smartest bet to win Super Bowl 53.

Super Bowl 53 Betting Contenders

  • Green Bay Packers +1350
  • New Orleans Saints +1550
  • Atlanta Falcons +1675
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +2200
  • Houston Texans +2250
  • Los Angeles Chargers +2250

Windows for the Packers and Saints to win a Super Bowl are closing. The Falcons had their shot two years ago and lost the Super Bowl to the Patriots.

The Jaguars, Texans, and Chargers are young and hungry but need to get lucky to win Super Bowl 52. Jacksonville won 10 games last year, but Blake Bortles is not a Super Bowl caliber quarterback. Houston has the talent, but injuries have killed their momentum in recent years. Then there are the Chargers who have the talent on both sides of the ball to to be a sleeper Super Bowl 53 pick. The Bolts will pay out a healthy +2250 if they win the Lombardy Trophy.

Super Bowl 53 Bet If You Feel Lucky

  • San Francisco 49ers +2700
  • Kansas City Chiefs +3300
  • Dallas Cowboys +3300
  • Carolina Panthers +4000
  • Oakland Raiders +4000

The 49ers, Chiefs, Cowboys, Panthers, and Raiders all have question marks at talent positions. Do you see any of these teams being a smart Super Bowl 53 bets even with the value odds?

2018 College Football National Title Odds

College Football πŸ† Odds

Football winter has thawed! College football’s kick-off weekend is here. That means it is time to take a look at who has the odds to be crowned the 2018 National Champion.

College Football Title Odds

Realistically who thinks more than a dozen teams have the odds to make it to the College Football Playoff? Only nine teams have occupied the 16 playoff spots in the first four years of its existence. Only 15 teams played in the 16 BCS Championship Games from 1998 to 2013. And only 11 teams won titles in that span.

2018 College Football πŸ† Betting Favorites

  • Alabama +210
  • Clemson +430
  • Georgia +750
  • Ohio State +775

Alabama has played in seven college football playoff games since 2014. That is more than most colleges have played in bowls in their entire history. This is the 10th consecutive season that the Tide is No. 1 in either the preseason AP Top 25, the end-of-season poll or the postseason poll. Moreover, Nick Saban is gunning for a record-breaking seventh national title (sixth at Alabama). This is the top team to bet on to win the 2018 college football national title.

If the Tide falter, Clemson is next in line on the college football betting board to win it all. Along the way, the Tigers will catwalk to another ACC title (their fourth in a row).

Georgia should run away with the SEC East, meaning Alabama and Georgia are likely to meet in the SEC title game. Could the two SEC powerhouses fight it out for the National Title?

The Buckeyes have to win at Penn State and Michigan State. A loss to either team will kill Ohio’s college football title shot odds.

College Football Week 1 Must Bet Games

Top 5 College Football Week 1 Must Bet Games

Which of the fully loaded sports betting board of College Football Week 1 games are a must bet?

Week 1 of college football features a chock-full of games for everyone to bet on. I have selected a handful of college football week 1 games that are a must bet. On Saturday, September 1st No. 6 Washington faces No. 9 Auburn at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in New Orleans. Followed by No. 14 Michigan going head-to-head against Notre Dame. That’s not all. Saturday college football Week 1 betting action continues with Louisville hoping to upset top-ranked Alabama.

The first week of college football betting action concludes with No. 8 Miami versus No. 25 LSU on the last NFL-free Sunday followed by a Monday night game featuring No. 20 Virginia Tech and No. 19 FSU.

Now let’s take a closer look at my 5 picks to be college football week 1’s must bet games.

Top 5 College Football Week 1 Must Bet Games

Sept 1, 2018

3:30 PM ET, ABC
#6 Washington Huskies
#9 Auburn Tigers -1Β½

Washington vs. Auburn is one of the opening weekend’s biggest matchups automatically making it my first college football week 1 must bet game. Auburn won the SEC West last season but comes into 2018 with one of the least-experienced offensive lines in the country. How will they stack up against a veteran and talented Washington defense?

Auburn’s 1-7 record in opening games against ranked teams also points to a victory by the underdog Huskies. The lone win came 61 years ago.

7:30 PM ET, NBC
#14 Michigan Wolverines
#12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish -1

The Fighting Irish on network prime time tv? Plus former NFL head coach Jim Harbaugh. That is a formula for a week 1 college football must bet game. But should the Irish be more significant favorites against a suspect Wolverines offense?

The Wolverines have a new QB in Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson. That is the one area Jim Harbaugh hasn’t had consistent production in his three years tenure at Michigan. But is Patterson the answer to the blues in Ann Arbor?

Can Irish QB Brandon Wimbush overcome an inexperienced offensive line in front of him? Michigan’s loaded and deep defensive front will be the ultimate test.

8 PM ET, ABC
Louisville Cardinals
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide -24Β½

Louisville’s MO is to score a lot of points while struggling to stop anyone. Even with QB Lamar Jackson’s jump to the NFL, this betting trend should hold true.

90% of Alabama’s first and second string roster consists of four-star and five-star talent making this game a must bet for the first week of college football. That holds true even at QB. Head coach Nick Saban has listed Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa as co-starters for this game.

Sept 2, 2018

7:30 PM ET, ABC
#8 Miami Hurricanes -3Β½
#25 LSU Tigers

A Sunday night college football game without a NFL tilt? Count that as a week 1 college football must bet game.

The "visiting" Miami Hurricanes are -3Β½ on neutral field versus the LSU Tigers.

March Richt starts his second season in Miami with fourteen returning starters from 2017’s 10-win breakout season. That includes QB Malik Rosier.

Is there any good news for those wanting to bet on LSU? Yes! The Canes lost almost its entire defensive front line. Also late in the 2017 season Miami lost its final three games and went 2-7 ATS over its last nine.

Sept 3, 2018

8 PM ET, ESPN
#20 Virginia Tech Hokies
#19 Florida State Seminoles -7Β½

Monday night football without an NFL game features a college football week 1 must bet game when the Hokies face the Seminoles in Tallahassee

Florida State welcomes new head-coach Willie Taggart who takes over for Jimbo Fisher. Even though Taggert has yet to name a starting QB, there’s a new level of excitement around the program as well. He could pick either Deondre Francois and James Blackman to go under center, and he can’t lose.

Virginia Tech’s young Hokies will be in hostile territory at Tallahassee. Doak Campbell Stadium holds over 79,000 rabid Seminole fans. Moreover, the Hokies are 5-13 on the road against the Seminoles. That includes losing the last five dating back to 1976. Virginia Tech last won there in 1974.

Betting Odds NFL Preseason Week 4

Betting Odds NFL Preseason Week 4

We are almost there as we hit the final week of NFL preseason betting. The betting odds are out. While Week 3 is designed as the last dress rehearsal for the regular season, Week 4 is a chance for rookies, third-stringers, and newcomers to make a name for themselves. That equates to a lot of low final scores for this week.

Betting Odds NFL Preseason Week 4

  • Los Angeles Chargers (+155) at San Francisco 49ers (-175) | Spread: 49ers -3 | Game Total: 35
  • Oakland Raiders (+135) at Seattle Seahawks (-155) | Spread: Seahawks -2.5 | Game Total: 35
