Sweet 16 National Championship Odds

Sweet 16 National Championship Odds

Welcome to the strangest Sweet 16 in recent memory. March Madness hasn’t lived up to its name through the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. Every No. 1, No. 2, AND No. 3 seed survived to the Sweet 16. Joining them are a pair of No. 4 seeds, a No. 5 and a No. 12 seed. Click here for March Madness futures odds for the Sweet 16 teams.

Sweet 16 National Championship Odds & Picks

Without a Cinderella team and a chalky field let’s take a closer look at the updated National Championship odds and how to pick your Elite Eight.

National Championship Betting Favorites

  • No. 1 Duke +350
  • No. 1 Virginia +390
  • No. 1 Gonzaga +585
  • No. 1 North Carolina +850

The Duke Blue Devils are still the 2019 National Championship betting favorite after surviving a scare from the UCF Knights. UCF took Duke to the wire while the Blue Devils’ four freshmen starters scored 72 of the team’s 77 points against the Knights. Duke is not a deep team, and that means they are looking to be upset.

The Virginia Cavaliers are the second-favorite to win the 2019 National Championship at +390. Virginia ranks top-three nationally in both adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency. They shoot threes at a 40 percent clip while holding opponents under 28 percent from beyond the arc. Combine that with a low turnover rate and solid rebounding and shot blocking, the Cavaliers are the total package.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs have the toughest road to the national title game of any Sweet Sixteen team. They lead the nation at 88.6 points per game, without shortening the game. This team can out-score any other remaining team on any night with contributions from not only all five starters but from impact bench players like Killian Tillie, Geno Crandall, and Filip Petrusev.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are a great National Championship betting value at +850. They win with their speed and by outrebounding their opponents. After two March Madness games, North Carolina has out-rebounded teams by 50. The Tar Heels are unbeatable if they shoot 40 percent from three-point land and out-rebounds you by 20.

National Championship Betting Contenders

  • No. 2 Kentucky +1300
  • No. 3 Purdue +1400
  • No. 2 Michigan State +1750
  • No. 2 Michigan +1800
  • No. 2 Tennessee +2000
  • No. 3 Texas Tech +2000

Any other year these teams would be National Championship betting favorites. But with all of the top-seeds surviving this group 2019’s National Championship betting contenders are top 2 and 3 seeds. Each team’s betting odds provide a great return.

National Championship Betting Longshots

  • No. 5 Auburn +3300
  • No. 3 Houston +4000
  • No. 4 Virginia Tech +4500
  • No. 4 Florida State +5000
  • No. 3 LSU +7500
  • No. 12 Oregon +10000
2019 NCAA Tournament Odds, Sweet 16, TV Schedule

2019 NCAA Tournament Odds, Sweet 16 TV Schedule

The 2019 NCAA Basketball Tournament’s Sweet Sixteen is set. The betting odds are out. All twelve of the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 seeds are still alive. I can’t remember that ever happening before. In the last nine NCAA Tournaments, a max six of the eight top two seeds made it to the Sweet Sixteen. All twelve of the top three seeds being still alive is crazy. Joining the top-seeded teams are a fourth, fifth and 12th-seeded team. Now let’s take a look at the upcoming NCAA Tournament odds and TV schedule for the Sweet 16.
