2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Title Odds & Picks

By Posted on No tags 0

The Final Four is set. Villanova, Michigan, Kansas, and surprise Loyola-Chicago have stamped their tickets to the 2018 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Final Four. Top-seeded Villanova is the heavy favorite to win the title at +107. Will it be one of the three blue-chip squads or Cinderella that earns the crown?

Latest 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Title Odds & Picks

March Madness National Champion Odds at the Final Four:

  • Villanova +107
  • Michigan +270
  • Kansas +335
  • Loyola Chicago +1125

The Oddsmakers Favorite:  Villanova +107

Villanova has been the best team in the tournament. The Wildcats beat both West Virginia and Texas Tech by 12 points. The Mountaineers and Red Raiders are two of the very best teams from the Big 12. The Big 12 is regarded as this season’s best college hoops conference.

The problem with facing Villanova is that coach Jay Wright is a genius. But, even money on a team to win the Final Four? I don’t think so.

The Smart Pick To Win The Title:  Michigan +270

Michigan is a smart play because the Wolverines must only get by 11th-seed Loyola-Chicago to make it to the Final Four Championship. The Wolverines start a Dirk Nowitzki-esque player in Moritz Wagner. Wagner can stroke the three in addition to dominating inside. He’s that good of a basketball player.

Not only that but the Wolverines haven’t lost a game since Northwestern beat them on February 6. The hottest team in the Final Four offers decent odds at +270.

The Smarter Pick:  Kansas +335

Michigan is definitely a smart play. They’re not the smartest play, though. Kansas is the smartest play. First, they offer better odds than Michigan. Another reason why Kansas is a smarter play than Michigan is because Kansas has Devonte’ Graham. Graham is the overall best player in the 2018 Final Four. He can shoot. He can dish. He even plays great defense.

Kansas once won a National Championship behind awesome play from Danny Manning. Graham is good enough to provide a Manning-like performance in this year’s Final Four. If he does, Rock Chalk will cut down the nets on April 2.

The Longshot Pick:  Loyola-Chicago +1125

It’s amazing that Loyola-Chicago, a March Madness longshot, is at +1125 odds to win the Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship. Yes, Loyola-Chicago didn’t have to battle a team like Duke or Texas Tech in the Elite 8. That’s one of the reasons to believe the Ramblers should be such huge dogs. I’m not buying it, though.

Loyola-Chicago is the only team of the Final Four squads that’s gotten better as the tournament has gone on. The Ramblers dominated Kansas State 78 to 62 in the Elite 8. Loyola-Chicago might just be playing basketball better than anyone else in the Final Four.
