Odds & Analysis NBA Playoffs East Semifinals

It’s No. 1 Milwaukee facing No. 4 Boston, and No. 2 Toronto going head-to-head against No. 3 Philadelphia. A trip to the conference finals and a potential Title bid is at stake.

NBA Playoffs East Semifinals Opening Series Prices

Boston Celtics +230
Milwaukee Bucks -270

Both Boston and Milwaukee swept their first-round opponents making me wonder if the first round of the NBA Playoffs should go back to a best-of-five.

These two faced off in the first round last year. The Celtics won the series in seven games without Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Both are available year; however, they face a much different Bucks team that fell short last season.

While the players remain mostly the same, the 2019 Bucks are a much-improved team. Under new head coach Mike Budenholzer Milwaukee finished the regular season with the leagues best record. Moreover, MVP frontrunner Giannis Antetokounmpo has blossomed into an opponent’s worst nightmare on both ends of the court.

The Bucks won the season head-to-head series 2-1.

Philadelphia 76ers +185
Toronto Raptors -225

Philadelphia and Toronto both needed five games to advance to the NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference semifinals. On the first day of the NBA playoffs, both teams dropped Game 1 at home. That is not the only similarity between the two. The 76ers and Raptors went all-in by cashing in their futures to win right now. Philly acquired Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris while the Toronto brought in Kawhi Leonard and the aging Marc Gasol. Butler and Leonard are both free-agents after this season.
