The 2019 NFL season is finally here and I have a bold betting prediction for each of the 32 NFL teams. For updated odds on all of my predictions, click here.
32 Bold NFL Betting Predictions For 32 Teams
Arizona Cardinals’ rookie Kyler Murray will NOT win offensive ROY
Kyler Murray +150 is the betting favorite to be named AP’s Offensive Rookie of the Year. Cardinals rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury was hired because of what Sean McVay did in Los Angeles. But Kingsbury’s is no McVay. But his college football coaching record is a dismal 35–40. A rookie head coach does no favors to a rookie QB.
Atlanta Falcons’ WR Julio Jones goes OVER 1535½ receiving yards
Julio Jones is waiting on a new contract. Jones has a base salary of just $9.6 million this season and is in the fourth year of a five-year, $71.25 million contract extension signed in 2015. That makes him the 13th-highest-paid wide receiver in the league. His asking price now? The five year $96.25 million deal that Michael Thomas got from the Saints.
If that isn’t enough, the Falcons have a new and improved offensive line that will give Matt Ryan more time to find his stud wide-receiver.
Baltimore Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson rushing yards UNDER 858½
Last year Lamar Jackson rushed for 695 yards and five touchdowns. During the off-season, the Ravens’ brain trust added rusher Mark Ingram and drafted a couple of top wide receivers in Miles Boykin and AB’s younger brother Marquise Brown. Moreover, Jackson has come out saying he wants to pass the ball 30 times a game. Add all that up, and it means coach Harbaugh wants the young QB to run less.
Buffalo Bills finish 2nd in the AFC East
The Patriots own the AFC East. The Dolphins are in rebuild mode. And I am not sold on Adam Gase for the Jets. Cash in on the Buffalo Bills to come in second in the AFC East and payout +200.
Carolina Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey rushes for OVER 1049½ yards
Who really thinks Christian Mccaffery will rush for LESS than the 1,098 yards he rushed for last year?
Chicago Bears win the NFL North
The only team that can challenge the Bears for NFC North supremacy are the Packers. While Aaron Rodgers will have another MVP-calibre season, the Pack will fall short when facing the Bears twice this regular season. Bet the Bears to win the NFL North at +197.
Cincinnati Bengals will finish last in the AFC North
Nothing bold about this prediction. Just the god’s honest truth. They payout? -200.
Cleveland Browns will NOT win the Super Bowl
The Browns winning the Super Bowl has been a trendy pick for the last two seasons. CLEVELAND WILL NOT WIN THE SUPER BOWL in 2019. The payout is a horrendous -3400.
Dallas Cowboys will finish 2nd in the NFC East
This team will NOT be above .500 without Zeke. Until he is signed bet the Cowboys to finish behind Philly and ahead of Washington and the Giants in the NFC East to win +115.
Denver Broncos UNDER 8.5 wins
The Broncos schedule is a killer. I don’t see this team beating the Chiefs or Chargers once even with two shots. Denver will open the season with a win over the Raiders in Oakland in Week 1, but then a three-game stretch versus the Bears, Packers, Jags from Week 2 to 5 will put this team at 1-3. There is no recovering from that.
Detroit Lions will finish LAST in the NFC North
The Lions have underachieved for as long as I can remember. This year I expect nothing but mediocrity from a team void of any weapons.
Green Bay Packers will go 1-1 versus the Bears this season.
The Green Bay Packers are 3-point underdogs versus the Bears at Soldier Field! This game would be a pick’em at a neutral location. The Week 15 look ahead spread favors the Packers by 2.5 at Lambeau. The Packer win in Week 1 and lose in Week 15.
Houston Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins goes OVER 1435½ receiving yards
No Lamar Miller to rush the ball. A second and third receiving option with Will Fuller and Kenny Stills all points to a monster season for Hopkins. Bank it!
Indianapolis Colts’ Marlon Mack rushes for 1000+ yards
The now-retired Luck was a generational talent who had been playing hurt for most of his career. What will this team do with two healthy quarterbacks who both started their careers with the Patriots do? Mack for 1000+ rushing yards.
Jacksonville Jaguars’ Leonard Fournette will rush for OVER 1000 yards
Leonard Fournette was drafted to be the every-down back for the Jags, but he can’t stay on the field. This year that changes. First because of former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles taking over for Blake Bortles. Secondly, there is no one else to rush the ball. Veteran backup rusher Alfred Blue is on the IR and can’t return until Week 9. That leaves a fifth-round rookie and a pair of new no-names as backups. I expect Foles to be the undisputed leader of this offense and he will keep Fournette in check. I am betting on Fournette to rush for OVER 1000 yards for a payout of +115.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes passes for OVER 4650½ yards and OVER 36½ touchdowns
The 2017 Falcons, a year after scoring 540 points, lost offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and nosedived to 353 points, 15th in the league. The 2013 Patriots lost three of their top four receivers from the previous season and saw their scoring decline from 557 points to 444, a 20% drop.
The Chiefs’ offensive coaching staff is coming back 100% intact and the players responsible for close to 65% of last year’s receptions are all back. Continuity and stability is the formula for long term success in the NFL. Just ask Belichick and Brady.
Los Angeles Chargers UNDER 10 wins
Without Melvin Gordon, this team will win or lose based on Phillip Rivers’ aging arm.
Los Angeles Rams finish 2nd in the NFC West
Gurley’s knee is a huge question mark. Plus Seattle just added Jadaveon Clowney who will emerge from JJ Watt’s shadow to decimate the NFC West.
Miami Dolphins will have the worst NFL record
Miami is in full rebuild mode and is the favorite to have the worst NFL record at +200. Easy money.
Minnesota Vikings will at least 10 games
The Vikings are loaded in talent. This is Kirk Cousins second season in Minnesota. I expect big things. A 10 or more win season pays out +142.
New England Patriots will lose 2 games in 2019
In Week 8 to the Browns and in Week 14 to the Chiefs. Bet the look ahead odds now.
New Orleans Saints will also lose just 2 games in 2019
At Seattle in Week 3 and at Chicago in Week 7.
New York Giants
Daniel Jones > Eli Manning
New York Jets
The Jets are the better team in the Big Apple. But not by much.
Oakland Raiders’ Josh Jacobs wins offensive ROY
RB Josh Jacobs is the second favorite to win offensive ROY, and he will walk away with it while paying out +650.
Philadelphia Eagles win the NFC East
This is a QB league, and the Eagles have the best QB in their division. Bet the house on the Eagles to win the NFC East.
Pittsburgh Steelers will finish 3rd in the AFC North
No AB, no Bell won’t equal to no drama in Pittsburgh. The Browns and Ravens are better.
San Francisco 49ers will finish 3rd in the NFC West.
Seattle and L.A. are the top two making the 49ers a smart bet to finish 3rd at +158.
Seattle Seahawks will win the NFC West
I am not sold on the Rams until Gurley proves his knee is 100%. And the Seattle front-office went out and stole Jadaveon Clowney to boost their already talented defense. Bet the Seahawks to win the NFC West and payout +315.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Conundrum
The Bucs aren’t going anywhere with Winston under center.
Tennessee Titans QB Conundrum
Marucs Mariota and Ryan Tannenhill were both supposed to be franchise QBs. Both will be looking for work in 2020.
Washington Redskins QB Conundrum
Case Keenum may be the early starter, but Dwayne Haskins will win more games than the former will start.
