The tail end of the 2017-2018 college football season is on the horizon. Week 11 has an incredible slate of college football tilts.
College Football Week 11 Betting Cheat Sheet
Thursday, Nov. 9
North Carolina at Pittsburgh -10
ESPN at 7:30 pm ET
The North Carolina Tar Heels are 1 and 7 against the spread in their last 8 games. The only time UNC has ever covered a spread was when they beat Old Dominion 53 to 23 on Sept. 16. Pittsburgh isn’t a great team. UNC might be the worst team in the ACC. I like Pitt to cover.
Friday, Nov. 10
#9 Washington -7.5 at Stanford
FS1 at 10:30 pm ET
Washington is only 3-5-1 against the spread this season. Is that good? Not at all. But, Stanford’s defense isn’t close to being as capable as it was last season. It’s difficult to see the Huskies not covering versus Stanford on Friday night.
Saturday, Nov. 11
#13 Michigan State at #11 Ohio State -14.5
FOX at 12:00 pm ET
Ohio State lost 23 to 55 to Iowa in Week 10. It was the sort of loss that should end Ohio State’s chances at getting into the CFP. It might be the kind of loss that sends Ohio State reeling.
I believe it is. Michigan State’s offense was great in Sparty’s 27 to 24 win over Penn State. The Spartans were a 9.5 dog in that game. I like Michigan State to play Ohio State tough on Nov. 11
#12 Oklahoma State -7 at #24 Iowa State
ABC at 12:00 pm ET
I’m not a fan of Oklahoma State in this game. The Cowboys lost 52 to 62 to Oklahoma in a crazy, offensive loaded, game. Iowa State’s defense can shut down a good offense. Just look what it did to TCU on Oct. 28. The Cyclones should cover the spread and win straight up.
Arkansas at LSU -18
ESPN at 12:00 pm ET
Arkansas barely beat Coastal Carolina 39 to 38 as a -24.5 home favorite in Week 10. The Razorbacks don’t do much very well while LSU has a decent defense. The Tigers also have a pretty good offense. I like LSU.
NC State -3 at Boston College
ABC at 12:00 pm ET
NC State hung with Clemson for a while. Then, Clemson’s overall talent took charge in the Wolfpack’s 31 to 38 loss to Clemson in Week 10. Boston College isn’t a very good team. However, the Eagles have covered in 6 straight games. I’m backing BC.
Florida at South Carolina -9
CBS at 12:00 pm ET
Florida is an absolute mess. The Gators fired coach Jim McElwain. They’ve lost 4 in a row. They’ve also gone 1 and 3 against the spread in their last 4. South Carolina played Georgia about as tough as they could in a 10 to 24 loss as a 23.5 dog on Nov. 4.
#2 Georgia -3 at #10 Auburn +3
CBS at 3:30 pm ET
I think this is the Saturday where the Georgia Bulldogs go down. The top-ranked team in the College Football Playoff and second-ranked team in the AP Poll battles a decent Auburn team on the road in College Football Week 11. Auburn’s defense is the best Georgia has faced this season. Auburn’s offense can score versus Georgia’s D. Auburn straight up and ATS is the play.
Florida State at #4 Clemson -17
ESPN at 3:30 pm ET
Florida State’s a mess. The Seminoles aren’t just 3 and 5 straight up. They’re also an unbelievable 0-6-2 against the spread this season. That’s unbelievably bad. I think Clemson rolls.
Iowa at #6 Wisconsin -13
ABC at 3:30 pm ET
The Wisconsin Badgers are the only team in the Big Ten that could possibly make it to the College Football Playoff. Wisconsin battles an Iowa team that just hung 55 points on Ohio State in Week 10. Iowa figures to bounce off that game while Wisconsin figures to play as well as they usually do. The Badgers prevail.
#15 USC -13 at Colorado
FOX at 4:00 pm ET
The USC Trojans head to Colorado having covered in two straight. Unfortunately for Trojan backers, the two covers were versus Arizona State and Arizona. I believe USC beats Colorado. This spread is out of control, though. The Buffalos should step it up against the Trojans enough to cover ATS.
#1 Alabama -14.5 at #18 Mississippi State
ESPN at 7:00 pm ET
Mississippi State is one of the better teams in the SEC. More importantly, Alabama is only 4 and 5 against the spread this season. Alabama is 1 and 3 against the spread in their last 4 games. Mississippi State should do just enough to beat Alabama against the spread on Saturday.
#3 Notre Dame -3.5 at #7 Miami
ABC at 8:00 pm ET
The biggest game of College Football Week 11 has Miami battling Notre Dame in Miami. Can the Hurricanes possibly beat a Top 5 team a week after taking down Virginia Tech? I don’t believe so. Miami is a good team. Notre Dame might be the best team in the nation at this point of the season.
#10 TCU at #5 Oklahoma -7
CBS at 8:00 pm ET
This is a huge game as well. Both TCU and Oklahoma could work their way back into the CFP long term with a win. Oklahoma got a huge break versus Oklahoma State because the Cowboys play Oklahoma’s game. TCU doesn’t. The Horned Frogs add another loss to Oklahoma’s record.
