PGA Championship Odds, Betting Favorites, Contenders, Sleepers & Long Shot Picks

Welcome to the second golf major of the year. This year it will be the PGA Championship, which moved up to May from August. Click here for live golf odds.

The defending PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka topped Tiger Woods by two strokes last year at Bellerive Country Club which is a stone’s throw from St. Louis. This year, Bethpage Black will host to the 2019 PGA Championship.

Bethpage Black is a public course in upstate New York. The last PGA tour event at the course was The Barclays in 2016 and 2012. Back then Bethpage Black played as a par-71 for The Barclays but will be played as a Par-70 for the PGA Championship.

PGA Championship Odds, Betting Favorites, Contenders, Sleepers, and Long Shot Picks

PGA Championship Betting Favorites

Dustin Johnson +975
Brooks Koepka +1015
Rory McIlroy +1065
Tiger Woods +1200

Leading the PGA Championship betting odds are the usual suspects of Dustin Johnson, the defending champion Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy and Masters’ winner Tiger Woods.

Koepka won the 2018 Wanamaker Trophy with Woods hot on his tail. In the final round last year, Koepka fired a 4-under 66 fend off Woods’ late charge and win the title. Woods finished 2-strokes behind Koepka.

PGA Championship Contenders

Justin Thomas +1665
Jon Rahm +1800
Justin Rose +1850
Rickie Fowler +2000
Jason Day +2230
Francesco Molinari +2300
Jordan Spieth +2800
Tommy Fleetwood +2800
Xander Schauffele +2800

PGA Championship Sleepers

Lucas Glover +13000
John Daly +100000
Rob Labritz +200000

Lucas Glover won the last major held at Bethpage: the 2009 U.S. Open. Plus, he has quietly notched four top-10 finishes this season. If you still aren’t sold on Glover, consider that he has clocked 11 top 15 finishes in 15 starts with just three missed cuts.

With a doctor’s note in hand, John Daly will be ripping up Bethpage from behind the wheel of a golf cart. I am not sure why the usually stuffy guardians of golf are giving the hard-living, hard-drinking, hard-partying a pass due to osteoarthritis in his right knee, but any edge is an edge.

No one has heard of Rob Labritz. Everyone will know his name this weekend. He’s a three-time winner of the New York State Open, which is coincidently played every year at the Black. I expect this club pro from GlenArbor to be near the top after the first couple of days.
